Stopping for lunch at our favorite rest stop on the trip up.
And, yes, that is the hamster in Aravis's hands
FINALLY!
After 2 and a half long days, 1400 miles, with 3 kids, 1 baby, 1 hamster, cloth diapers and 300 miles that took 11 hours we made it to NY state!
The annual 4th of July bike parade at camp
Aravis's first day of camp.
The camp where we have our cottage runs youth camps for different ages during the summer. It's a perfect situation because its sleep-away camp but I'm just a few feet away, which works well for all of us......ok, maybe more for me than them. This was Aravis's first year as a camper. She was in a cabin filled with friends and a cousin and she had a great week.

playing with rocks
I spent my childhood building moats and lakes in this very same dirty, rocky sand. Today, I would much prefer running my toes in Florida's smooth, pretty sand but I didn't care then, and they don't care now.
