I got the idea for playing with jello here http://nurturestore.co.uk/halloween-jelly-messy-play . So, today we headed out to the backyard and made an ooey gooey mess.
When we made the jello, we hid colorful glass stones inside to dig out like buried treasure. It was fun to feel the different textures.
Xury was tentative at first, just pinching out tiny little bits.
Aravis was not.
These glass tiles were almost completely camouflaged in the icy blue jello.
We mixed colors...
(if you mixed them a little the chunks retained their size and color but if you mixed them a lot they began to blend)
added some to water....
and experimented with different temperatures of water.
(It dissolved in warm water but mostly stayed the same size and color in cold)
In the end, there was a flurry of activity, mixing water and colors and pouring jello from one bowl to another.
Once Xury dug in, she didn't want to stop!
It was fun, messy, much easier to play with than to clean up but all in all, not a bad way to spend the morning.
