A Season Of Lasts

As we say goodbye to the city we have lived in and loved for almost a decade, we are beginning a season of lasts. Much of what we do these days is most likely our last time. Saturday it was the History and Art museums.

       Dominick got some drum lessons.

Aravis made an arabic scarf and tambourine.

And everyone sculpted with clay at the Art Museum.

We also went to one of our absolute favorite parks.

Aravis got to feed the horses.

While Xury made friends with the ponies.

These magical woods have been one of my favorite places to walk. We've come here so many times over the years and it's still hard to believe we won't anymore.

Life hasn't all been about saying goodbye though. A friend posted this idea for sock bubbles on my Facebook page and we decided to give it a try.

  with very cool results!

All we did was cut a water bottle in half and stretch an old sock over it.

Then, dipped it in a mixture of dish soap and water and blew through the water bottle to get a long stream of bubbles.

Lately, Tanner has been getting some help in the kitchen.

And we found this guy digging in the garden.

We looked him up and found out he's a Knight Anole lizard.

Saying goodbye is hard. This has been our home for as long as most of my kids can remember. I've watched my kids grow up here and we have so many wonderful and beautiful memories. Change, while difficult, is a part of life and there will be many more precious lasts as we end this chapter of our life here.
